February in Review

We've already called it -2019 is the year of Macro

It’s been a busy month here at Noravera, with plenty of shooting as well as tight editing turnarounds! We are continuously proud of what we can push ourselves to achieve by going above and beyond and working hard as a team. Here are a few of the projects we have been working on this month and a little bit of info about them.

Kit and Ace
Recently we have had the absolute pleasure of reuniting with our former office roommates, Ballentine. Ballentine has a thriving branding, design and creative agency here in Vancouver and we have worked on a few projects together recently. The latest was Kit and Ace’s rebranding campaign – Functional Freedom. Inspired by the jaw dropping Kenzo World campaign directed by Spike Jonze, we were so fired up when we received the brief and even more excited when we were selected as the right company for the job. Working with talented dancers and styled by the stunning Kit and Ace wardrobe, we boogied our way through railtown. The entire project from pre-production to delivery was all completed in under a month and we’re so proud of how it came together – check out the video on KA’s website here:

Our dear friends at Tentree are back with another project and we’re so excited about it. We’ve already called it – 2019 is the year of MACRO and these new tentree videos have it in spades. Edited by the quirky, hyper-talented Benny Schuetze, we’re so excited to share this series of videos with you… but for now they’re still under the editing knife so just know you should be excited.

Tugboat Group
We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Tugboat Group this month – a fantastic, local design and marketing communications firm. In true Noravera fashion, we shut down a grocery store overnight and shot through the evening with some fantastic talent. The client for this shoot was Associated Labels, another local company that designs labels and packaging for a wide range of products and brands. We are working away at the edit on this fun project that will utilize HUD graphics to illustrate how consumers engage with packaging while shopping. This video will be live at the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim as a part of their trade show booth and then we will create an alternate cut that will live online. We’ll be sure to share it with you when it’s public!

Noravera has gone back to school! We have been working with LaSalle college on a series of videos to highlight the many creative programs they offer. From that connection we have also been invited to work on the creative videos that will be featured during Vancouver Fashion Week this year to highlight each of the designers from LaSalle who have been chosen to design a line for the show. This artsy, provocative shoot goes with the theme Taboo and of course, we went MACRO with a lot of the shots and are excited to see how they turn out!
We have also spent some time this month working with UBC Sauder’s Diploma in Accounting Program, interviewing current students to highlight the benefits of this unique business grad program at UBC.

BC Children’s Hospital had another incredibly successful For Children We Care event this month. On February 16, leaders from BC’s Chinese-Canadian community came together to raise a record $4,126,888!! This year’s gala raised funds for BC Children’s Sunny Hill Enhancement Initiative. The initiative will help create a state-of-the-art environment for Sunny Hill’s unique patient populations through highly innovative technology, purposeful artwork, specialized equipment, and enhanced spaces designed for patients and their families.

We had the pleasure of working together on their live auction videos, sponsorship videos and the patient family video. This year the patient family video shared Aaron’s story. It was a pleasure getting to know Aaron and his family and of course the great work that BC Children’s Hospital has done and continues to do to support them.

Thanks for reading – we’ll keep you updated on these projects so we can share the videos with you as well as the new projects we have on the go throughout the year!
